Main Purpose of the role

This role will support the finance team with day-to-day operations and important analysis and compliance work, helping the finance team produce high quality and timely financial information for stakeholders. The role will also see involvement in financial processes reviews and improvements, with the use of systems and technology where appropriate.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation and analysis of monthly management accounts and subsequent stakeholder reporting.
• Performing ledger reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Preparing and posting month end and other journals as required.
• Performing analysis work on tax related matters.
• Performing analysis work for external disclosures, such as national statistics surveys, payment practices reporting, etc.
• Providing analysis and reporting support to the finance team and wider business as required.
• Assisting with the preparation of yearly consolidated financial statements.
• Assisting with year-end and the external audit process.
• Helping ensure that financial control processes are understood and followed by non-finance teams, where appropriate.
• Assisting with the continuous improvement of financial processes and systems.
• Assisting with other ad-hoc tasks as required.

What skills are we looking for?

To be successful in this role, you must be IT literate, including good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, strong numeracy skills, excellent attention to detail, have the ability to manage and prioritise workload and meet deadlines, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, have a desire to learn and have the ability to pick up new concepts easily and have the ability to critically evaluate information.
