IT Solutions Analyst I (Hybrid Opportunity)

Job Description
What you can expect in a typical day
As an IT Retail Application Analyst for Irving Oil’s IT team, you will use your IT skills to work with our vendors and partners to support new and existing site setup for dealer settlement.
Example:
Asist with transaction issue investigations between the Point of Sale and the back-office systems
Analyze and determine root cause of credit card settlement issues
Support site onboarding and changes with merchant service providers
Support in reporting to management
In a secondary role, you would be remotely supporting Retail and Fleet site technology by working with services vendors and troubleshooting of retail component issues.
Install new technology as well as resolve any technical issues within our retail network in order to maintain an easy and seamless user experience for our customers. Using your customer service mindset and sense of urgency along with a understanding of networking, you will work within a team to provide installation and technical support to technicians, partners, and employees to troubleshoot and resolve network, hardware, or software issues within our retail network. This role requires shift flexibility and involves rotational on-call / after-hours work and occasional travel.

Your role & responsibilities:
Basic knowledge in hardware and/or software;
Basic background in databases
A willingness to learn new technologies.
A positive, “how can we do this” attitude for troubleshooting.
Training site personnel on how to use new technology.
An ability to influence without authority when working with various stakeholders.
Manage software licensing, hardware deployment, and associated upgrades.
Log, track, troubleshoot, and resolve open tickets through incident management tools.
Support retail and fleet sites onboarding and changes with Merchant Service Providers and internal departments.
Database Table maintenance for Retail and Fleet location, files type, promotions, fees, analyze reject inside Irving Applications.
An ability to work flexible hours, when necessary.

Minimal travel required
Education and experience
Post-secondary education in Business, IT, Computer Science, related discipline, or equivalent experience.
2+ years of experience working in an IT team is an asset
Retail IT experience is an asset
Experience with database maintenance is an asset
Experience with POS (point-of-sale) technology and fuel POS technology is an asset
This role requires shift flexibility and may involve rotational on-call / after-hours work.
