Overview: Have you recently graduated and want to start your career as a Python Developer?

Our Junior Software Developers work as an integral member of the Software Development Chapter, developing, implementing and maintaining motor insurance-based products within the Product Rating Tribe. They provide full technical product ownership, including incident and business as usual change. They promote and embrace a culture of continuous improvement, carrying out improvements when identified.

Reporting to the Software Development Lead, your main responsibilities in the role will be: *

• Working as a Junior member of the Software Development Chapter, developing, implementing and maintaining motor insurance-based products within the Product Rating Tribe
• Implementation and delivery of relevant coding standards
• Implementation and execution of thorough unit testing and version control
• Implementation and execution of thorough acceptance testing including security and performance testing
• Participating in the implementation of continual improvement initiatives which support underlying strategies
• Working alongside and collaborating with other software developer

• Experience of delivering technical solutions using Python object-orientated programming
• Experience of using version control systems such as Git
• An understanding and appreciation for an agile based delivery culture including SCRUM and Kanban
• A keen interest in DevOps delivery principles including Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CICD)
• Effective communication skills to help build and maintain valuable relationships
• Highly developed interpersonal skills to help build and maintain valuable relationships
• Possess high level of analysis, logical reasoning and problem-solving skills
