Job Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor is accountable for supporting the maintenance programs and procedures to maintain all equipment and buildings in the Edmonton PVC plant. Improves safety, quality, productivity, and machine efficiency. The Maintenance Supervisor will assign tasks to the Maintenance Team according to priorities. Work closely with other departments in resolving issues.
Principal Responsibilities
Supports the maintenance programs and procedures that maintain the care and condition of all extrusion equipment.
Continuous focus on maintaining a safe work environment.
Ensures the efficient use of time of maintenance journeymen, electrical technician, and plant janitor.
Ensures any safety-related issues are taken care of in a timely manner.
Supports the maintenance programs and procedures that ensure all maintenance employees and contractors follow all safety-related issues and that all third-party contractors are in good standing with WCB as well as having adequate liability insurance.
Schedules and maintain the preventative maintenance program.
Enforces preventive maintenance program to meet IPEX ISMS requirements.
Continually work to minimize waste & provide monthly Environmental Report.
Responsible for the efficient stocking and supply of critical spare parts.
Prepare and enforce the practice of 5S duties per 5S schedule for employees.
Review Accident/Incident Investigations & remain compliant.
Participate in scheduled audits to ensure compliance.
Conduct Management of Change (MOC) reviews.
Conduct annual performance appraisal of all direct reports.
Other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Manager.
Requirements
Education & Certificates
Journeyman as Millwright/Electrician is preferred
Red Seal Certificate is considered an asset
Technical Skills & Experience
Experience in extrusion and/or plastic manufacturing environment is an asset
Experience leading a team and mentoring Apprenticeships
Technical understanding of production planning techniques
Basic understanding of quality management standards, lean manufacturing, and safety requirements/laws (ISO 9001, Six Sigma, 5S, etc.)
Proficient Microsoft Office Skills
