Setting Out Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Setting Out Engineer to work with our client, a lead construction company, on an industrial project.

The successful candidate must posses good communication skills, extensive knowledge in all aspects of Groundworks, and have the ability to work using their sole iniciative, setting out new dwellings and boundaries as required by the Production team.

Essential Requirements

• Own Equipment (Robotic Total Station)
• Professional Indemnity Insurance
• Suitable Engineering Degree or similar Qualification in Civil/Structural Engineering or other relevant engineering discipline.
• Valid CSCS

Key Duties/Responsibilities

• Using designs and plans to mark out elements of the site as required.
• Working as part of the technical team liaise with site teams and alongside architects, construction managers, engineers, sub-contractors, supervisors, and surveyors.
• Setting out for new foundations, brickwork, retaining walls, drainage, landscaping, access roads and fence lines.
• Excravation, Pile Caps & Concrete Pads.
• Ensuring that all materials used and work performed are as per specifications.
• Resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise.
• Overseeing quality control and health and safety matters on site.
• A shared responsibility for site health and safety and the organisation and supervision of our works on site.

Key Skills

• Experience with setting instruments such as robotic Total Station, other EDM and GPS.
• General computer software skills including Microsoft Office.
• Good working knowledge of AutoCAD and modelling software such as lSS.
• Report preparation skills.

Contract Duration: 4 Months.

Rate: £300+ based on experience.
