Job Title: Software Engineer – PHP

Department: Development

Reporting to: Director of Software Engineering

Location: Based out of Baltimore, MD

Hours of work: Typical hours of work are from 8:30 AM until 5:00 PM. Additional hours may be necessary as needed. This position is exempt from overtime.

Overview:

As a PHP Software Engineer, you’ll be helping our team build the next generation of our trusted and proven software products. You’ll contribute to both internal and external systems and make a direct impact on current and future applications. We’re a small but mighty team of scrappy, code-obsessed engineers working alongside a world-class product and designer squad looking to make a difference in the healthcare technology industry (and have some fun along the way).

Essential Functions:

• Web based, smartphone and tablet application development.
• Full life cycle development processes.
• Review architecture and implement improvements.
• Oversee quality checks to ensure all programs are free from defects.
• Adhere to schedule releases and guarantee smooth application implementation.
• Adapt existing code to meet security guidelines.
• Test efficiency of applications and modify, as needed.
• Agile development methodology.
• Other duties, as necessary.

Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of PHP / Python / Ruby
• Experience with SQL databases and MVC architecture.
• Ajax, HTML, CSS, JavaScript experience.
• Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals.
• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or 4+ years’ experience developing all components of a modern web application stack
