Invision Group Looking for Senior Engineer at Kingston upon Hull, City of Kingston upon Hull Full Time

Invision recruitment are recruiting for a Senior Engineer, initially working on the Priory Junction Improvement works situated in Hessle Hull. The works involve the construction of a sheet pile and capping beam retaining wall and the widening of an existing signalised junction. You will need to be located within easy commute of Hull or North Lincolnshire, for an established Civil Engineering company.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake day-to-day setting out duties with no supervision
• Train, manage and mentor Junior Engineers
• Manage and monitor all site sample and performance testing requirements and maintain records in line with the contract specification
• Complete hazard and risk assessments and method statements
• Manage the site service plans and drawings, and issue permits accordingly
• Assist the site QS / Project Manager with providing the relevant information for records and claims purposes
• Monitor and control temporary works
• Develop and maintain relations with client, suppliers and sub-contractors
• Ensure all work complies with quality, safety and environmental policies and the requirements of the company procedures

Skills Required

• We are seeking someone who is ambitious, proactive, and motivated with the ability to mentor and progress the skills of the industrial / graduate engineers. You will be able to set out accurately and with no supervision highway type work including drainage, surfacing, kerbs, utilities, and also have experience of CAD.
• The successful candidate must also have experience of permit control, using cable avoidance tools and issuing permit to dig controlling works around existing statutory utilities.
• The ideal candidate will have experience in heavy civils with a main contractor, specifically piling and RC structures. They will also have a CSCS card and a suitable qualification in civil engineering – minimum requirement HND. A First Aid at Work qualification, SMSTS and a Degree in Civil Engineering would also be desirable for this role.
• Due to the nature of the role a full UK driving licence is essential and the successful candidate will be happy to travel throughout our Northern Region.
