As the Investment Accounting Senior Corporate Accountant, you’ll…

Provide analysis and commentary to identify key factors and trends impacting financial and operational performance for the assigned portfolio

Provide analysis and supporting material on advice for assigned portfolio and M&A transactions

Provide proactive analysis on potential business risks or abnormal occurrences in a timely manner

Identify interdependencies, resolve inconsistencies and escalate as required

Coordinate, build and maintain forecasts including identifying interdependency of cross business functions.

Provide quality accounting analysis and advice in accordance with applicable generally accepted accounting principles to the various functions and groups across Telstra in relation to business transactions and anticipated transactions

Monitor the latest accounting developments both in Australia and overseas to determine their impact on the Telstra Group and communicate these developments throughout the Telstra finance community and to the Audit Committee

Prepare, issue and maintain appropriate Accounting Policies for the Telstra Group in line with generally accepted accounting principles

Ensure compliance with technical accounting and regulatory requirements by the Telstra Group (including ASIC’s key focus areas such as impairment testing for goodwill and intangible assets)

Assist in the timely completion of internal and external group reporting obligations in accordance with applicable legislative requirements (including timely completion of the Group’s consolidation of controlled entities’ monthly results)

Ensure reports are produced in a timely manner and are in accordance with prescribed processes, policies, statutory and agreed customer requirements

To be successful in the role, you’ll…

Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants or CPA Society

5-8 years experience

Strong Technical Accounting knowledge

Experience in providing accounting support and advice for M&A transactions
