Our client is a WA owned and operated provider of tailored engineering solutions across the resource sector.

About the role

This is an internal procurement position where you will be responsible for implementing and controlling the companies’ procurement, materials and logistics systems and procedures whilst ensuring decisions are made in a cost/schedule effective manner.

You will be responsible for the following

• Overall management of the client’s Materials and Logistics depot
• Procurement of assets / tooling and construction materials
• Inspection and review of newly purchased second-hand equipment
• Manage and coordinate incoming and outgoing goods from the logistics depot
• Purchase and setup of new site offices and tooling containers
• Coordinate logistics of assets and tooling for site works
• Conduct site visits to review and inspect site equipment
• Manage asset portfolio and coordinate equipment servicing and repairs and maintenance
• Promote and implement new processes, uniformity and conformity of procurement and asset management
• Seek methods and systems that promote efficient and more effective procurement
• Managing our data base of suppliers and negotiating competitive pricing
• Manage all transport requests and have a clear understanding of main roads requirements to coordinate effective transport
• Maintain all asset registers to ensure compliance

Required Criteria

• Minimum 5 years experience in procurement
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the mining and resources sector
• Sound knowledge and awareness of materials and relevant industry specifications
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of materials management systems
