Senior Electrical Engineer:

Intramotev is seeking a motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to join the development team to meet growing demands in the development of self-propelled rail vehicles. Intramotev is developing multiple unmanned self-propelled vehicles. This role has a strong electrical engineering focus with some interaction with our software team – the successful candidate will be a member / mentor / coach of the development team for innovative self-propelled capabilities in electrical controllers, battery systems, charging systems, embedded computer design, and electric motor systems for current and future platforms. The development of these capabilities include multi-disciplinary skills – software development, systems development and integration. This position will be based out of St. Louis, MO

This position involves working in a dynamic team environment on small (1-2) to medium (3-6) person projects where excellent interpersonal and communication skills are needed. Due to the research nature of the work, project objectives and requirements are likely to evolve over the course of the role. A small amount of domestic travel to support integration, demonstration and customer engagement will be required.

Position Responsibilities

• Works with stakeholders to develop and document electrical system requirements.
• Analyzes and translates requirements into electrical system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications.
• Tests and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.
• Solves problems concerning and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
• Coordinates the hardware acquisition from suppliers along with any unique requirements for the design
• Research technological advancements for potential application to company business needs.
• Makes recommendations for technology investments.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

• At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Science
• 1-2+ years of experience leading/managing a team of engineers
• 3-5+ years of experience with controllers and electrical systems
• U.S. Person (immigration or work visa sponsorship will not be provided)
  
• Motivated, detail-oriented
• Willingness to expand into technical areas beyond your area of expertise; ability to develop innovative and novel approaches
• Open-minded and comfortable working in a teaming environment or as an individual contributor
• Fluent in both written and verbal English

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

Candidate should have a working knowledge of one or (ideally) multiple areas listed below:

• 2+ years of experience C, C++, C# and/or Python programming
• Experience with Unmanned Rail Systems / Unmanned Systems
• Demonstrated experience working on project teams and collaborating with other engineering disciplines.

Typical Education and Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+1 years’ related work experience, Master+3 years’ related work experience, 5 years’ related work experience, etc.).
