Position Overview:

Hey there! We’re on the lookout for a talented and enthusiastic Web Developer to join our team supporting the Montana Lottery. As the Web Developer, you’ll work with our client’s IT and marketing teams to maintain and enhance the Lottery’s web properties. We need someone who knows their stuff when it comes to best practices for web development, UI/UX design, and working with APIs. If you’re a problem-solving wizard with great attention to detail and love working both independently and as part of a group, this job is perfect for you!

Responsibilities:

• Work your magic to develop and maintain all Montana Lottery websites.

• Show off your aptitude for learning new things by becoming proficient with our proprietary CMS.

• Help us move toward the future by building new websites with industry standards tools like WordPress.

• Collaborate with savvy IT and creative marketing folks to tackle any issues and make our websites look and feel even better.

• Keep an eye on user behavior trends using Google Analytics, especially how desktop and mobile users interact with our sites.

• Dive into APIs, embedded elements, and data feeds to make sure everything integrates smoothly with other Lottery services like GovDelivery.

• Be a superhero and spot any performance issues on our websites and optimize them to perfection.

Availability:

• Be available to work remotely during our regular business hours and beyond if we need urgent help with system-related issues.

• Attend all the important meetings and rock them from a remote location.

• Occasionally, we might ask you to visit the Montana Lottery office and work with the team in person for up to one business week per quarter. We promise it’ll be fun!

Qualifications:

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field (or show us you’ve got the skills through your work experience).

• Proven experience in web development and maintenance, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web technologies that make websites shine.

• Know your way around content management systems, especially WordPress, and build websites like a pro.

• Experience working with APIs, embedded elements, and data feeds to make everything blend together seamlessly.

• Show us you know how to make our users smile with a killer UI/UX game and make data-driven improvements.

• Be buddies with Google Analytics or similar tools to keep track of what our users are up to and adapt accordingly.

• Flex those problem-solving muscles and pay attention to even the tiniest details.
