Your new job:

We are on the lookout for a Head of Data & Insights to help grow IFG! This newly created position will take on the role of growth hacker, but with budget behind it! Our current data team maintains the Power BI platform to help us optimise trade and stock; you will lead the next evolution of data analysis for us. You will be a commercially savvy individual, with the ability to identify and assess opportunities to ultimately drive forward and lead change. We are on an exciting journey and this role is fundamental to our commercial success!

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Lead the current data team and deliver meaningful analysis and analytics for business wide decision making.
• Be a true influencer across the business and work closely with departments such Commercial, Technology, Trade and Finance.
• Challenge the status quo, implement change, and inspire outstanding performance.
• Drive the focus of the Data team beyond the data sets currently being used.
• Enhance the view of our customer behaviour and personalise our approach to customer acquisition off-site (e.g., in google, social or and display) and on-site (e.g. in the content and products we are displaying to the customer); including web log files, GA data, and onsite behaviour across all our web properties.
• Incorporate third party data such as weather signals or web category traffic trends.
• Implement tools that proactively give the business statistically significant answers to the “why?” questions and move away from tools that are interrogated for answers.
• Generate APIs and data outputs that automatically influence some of the other technology we are using, such as personalisation software, Google Shopping bidding, price adjustment, on-site product sequencing and stock auto-replenishment.

What are we looking for?

• Strong experience in data architecture, data science and data definition.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to identify and assess commercial opportunities.
• Ecommerce background essential and preferably delivered on the vision above elsewhere.
• Ability to be able to influence and engage with both technical and non-technical audience.
• Experience of growing a team and leading to success.
• Passionate about identifying, prioritising, and delivering against potential outcomes of an evolving data capability.
• Analytical and strong attention to detail.
• Theoretical, but practical.
