Summary : Plan and coordinate all phases of domestic and international transportation of the business products from initial pick-up through destination.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Communicate with administration, production, warehouse staff, and carriers to ensure efficient and timely transportation and delivery of our products.
• Act as a key point of contact for all freight movement activities. Keep customers apprised of any issues that might affect the scheduled delivery of the product.
• Liaise and negotiate with carriers to obtain quotes and identify the most cost-effective modes of transportation to achieve the expediency required to meet company standards and optimal customer satisfaction.
• Analyze logistical problems and produce new solutions.
• Keep management advised of any inbound and outbound freight issues or changes.
• Input and maintain accurate and up-to-date records in our in-house database.

Qualifications and Skills required :

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, shill, and / or ability required.

Strong written and verbal communication skills. Able to communicate productively and

professionally with all levels of internal staff, external customers, suppliers, and vendors.

• 2 years of logistics experience in a manufacturing business is preferred.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent time-management ability. Works with a sense of urgency in an efficient manner.
• Proactive. Identifies issues of concern and addresses as appropriate.
• Creates strong working relationships with Production and Management staff.
• Reliable / dependable. Excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Customer service focused. Understand the importance of providing good customer service and recognize the ongoing, daily work product that must be achieved.
• Ability to adapt to changing procedures, policies, and work environment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent computer and data entry skills.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Education :

Associate degree or bachelor’s degree
