The Senior Systems Engineer understands the basics of Power Engineering, how data flows in a SCADA environment and practices good customer interactions. They also are familiar with many of the technologies used in this endeavor, including serial TCP protocols, and troubleshooting communication and configuration issues. This person is responsible for meeting the needs of the customer based on specifications, industry standards, and new technologies where applicable, and tracking changes during the course of projects. Ultimately, you will help us support our products that address critical infrastructure. Responsibilities

• Be the technical lead for larger and more complex utility industry projects.
• Generating configuration, user interface, and logic files.
• Producing basic control cabinet hardware design.
• Creating test plans from customer-supplied information.
• Commission and troubleshoot products in substations.
• Troubleshooting communications and configuration issues.
• Provide vital communication link between our customer and our division office.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
• Hardware skills in troubleshooting communication problems.
• 4+ years experience in utility industry and/or SCADA
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, team-oriented, results-driven
• Able to share knowledge to other engineers, the sales team and customers

Preferred Qualifications

• Programming/scripting with VB6/VBA/SQL/Perl/Python a plus
• Knowledge of HMI/SCADA Master systems is a plus
• Relay programming basics a plus (SEL, ABB, Basler)
• Minimum one-year experience with project management in automation and controls, demonstrating project management skills in scoping, scheduling, and tracking projects
• Experience with substation RTUs, IO devices/IEDs
• Demonstrated knowledge of MODBUS, DNP, and other industrial protocols
