Interaxon Hiring for Embedded Developer at Toronto, ON Full Time

Our Muse 2 and Muse S headbands are designed to make meditation and sleep easier and provide real-time audio and visual feedback on your meditative and sleep state through the Muse companion app.

As an Embedded Developer at Interaxon, you’ll be helping to improve and build EEG and biosensing wearables. You are experienced in digital signal processing in low power, wireless embedded systems, and real time processing of continuous time series data.

What you‘ll be doing:

You will be writing code in C for embedded controllers, and communicating effectively with other teams within InteraXon. You will be responsible for improving and maintaining firmware releases, design wireless network protocols, debug problems in hardware, firmware, and Bluetooth communication. You will be involved in the design software architecture, writing scripts in Python, managing code through Git. It is important to be able to understand component datasheets as well as electronic schematics and suggest improvements to circuit design, and write professional documentation. You will also learn and improve your understanding of meditation.

Your skills and experience: *

• 3-5 years experience working on embedded system design and firmware development
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field
• Write clear, straightforward, and concise code in C and GCC-ASM for embedded systems
• Experience with wireless communication (WiFi / BLE 5.2)
• Experience with PCB communication protocols, I2C, SPI, JTAG, etc.
• Familiarity with encryption and certificate authorities
• Familiarity with ARM Cortex M series or similar architecture
• Comfortable in Git and Python, BASH or shell scripting an asset
• Familiarity with software development life cycle and agile methodology
• Familiarity with analog and digital signal processing
• Understanding of low power embedded system design and firmware power control
• Ability to read an understand Datasheets and Programmer Guides
• Willingness to learn and practice meditation
• Bonus: previous experience with wearables, compression for streamed data, experience with linker scripts and makefiles, familiarity with Linux environments
