Today, Intellijoint technology lives in the operating room helping surgeons improve implant positioning during hip and knee replacement surgeries. Our technology has been used in over 27,000 surgeries – helping us to gain real-world feedback from patients and surgeons to improve our products. We are seeking a Software Developer to join our Research & Development team focusing on* Intellijoint HIP*® to help bring innovative technologies to the market.

The Position*
As a Software Developer, you will help develop products that solve real problems faced by healthcare professionals. You will make a meaningful impact to the company by growing our portfolio of products and tools used by surgeons and Intellijoint employees. You are a skilled developer with a passion for helping others and enjoy working in a dynamic, collaborative environment. Your primary focus will be software development but you will also play a role in prototyping, specifying, designing, and testing medical devices.

As a snapshot, we are looking for someone who is:

• A Software Developer with demonstrable professional experience
• Keen to continue learning and improving both self and team
• An effective communicator that is able to explain complex concepts and designs
• Collaborative and a good team player who is open to others’ ideas
• Happy to pitch in wherever needed on a small team

Main Duties: *

• Feature design, development, testing and integration
• Software architecture design, development and decision making
• Work closely with the product team to analyze and decompose problems into technical solutions
• Help shape the team’s best practices and development processes as we grow
• Translate complex mathematical and medical algorithms into production code
• Documentation (capturing design and testing activities as part of Quality System and supporting FDA and Health Canada submissions)

Skills and Experience to Enable Success: *

• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (e.g. Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related)
• Strong software development fundamentals
• Experience designing and implementing software architecture (e.g. MVC and MVVM)
• In depth knowledge of OOP concepts and principles (e.g. C++, C#, .NET or Java)
• Background in Apple Development (macOS or iOS) is a bonus
• Interested in medical technology and how it can genuinely improve surgical outcomes

• macOS development (Swift, Objective-C, XCode, Cocoa)
• Functional, reactive programming (RxSwift)
• Linear algebra concepts (transformation/rotation matrices, vector/matrix math)

Bonus/Interest to work with on occasion:

• Image processing and Computer Vision
• 3D Visualization (OpenGL, SceneKit)
• Multi-threading
