Intellectual Athlete uses sport, play and breathwork to teach young people how to self regulate. The very same mental skills useful for elite athletes to enhance performance can also be utilized by the everyday kid to combat anxiety.

We are searching for entrepreneurial, mind-body professionals who have a passion for youth development to spearhead DropNPlay sessions at local parks and playgrounds

The ideal candidate is a grad student studying Performance Psychology, Kinesiology, Strength and Conditioning. We are also recruiting Counselors, Coaches, Professional Athletes, Therapists, Educators and Yoga Instructors. If you are none of these, yet feel inspired by this work, please do get in touch.

We will be working in family centric neighborhoods throughout San Diego County (North County, North Park, Poway, Point Loma). We will find a location near your residence or place of work.

Our plan is to work in partnership with selected Instructors with a 50/50 fee split. Instructor runs the programs using IA curriculum, equipment and covered by our Insurance. We work together to market the program. Instructor is incentivized to increase the number of kids. We charge $20 per hour per child. The average DropNPlay should receive 10-15 children on a regular basis. Sessions occur weekly during the 330-6pm time frame.

We believe are creating a new play experience designed to teach kids how to manipulate breath and body to calm their minds. We play traditional sports, playground games, and activities the kids make up to keep the fun going. We do emphasize athletic skill development and our practices create a feeling of uncertainty. We want them to feel stress so that the breathing techniques we teach them can be practiced under duress. You cant pep talk resilience, it needs to be experienced.
