We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager to develop, deploy and sustain operations planning systems driving the optimization of manufacturing capital and planning in Folsom, California.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the strategic planning processes and future of our NAND business. Through a detailed understanding of our business objectives and the manufacturing supply chain, you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to architect and deploy world-class planning systems. You will be part of a supportive team working in a demanding and fast-paced environment that values safety, integrity, quality, creativity, results, and inclusion.

In this role, you will be the application owner for at least one of our long-range planning systems; responsible for maintenance, and continuous improvement of the system today as well as creating a vision and executing our application needs in the future.

You will be tasked to manage a team of 4-6 software professionals who are responsible for delivering results over many areas of the software lifecycle: design, developing, debugging, validating, and optimization, customer engagement, and product support. You will provide architectural and technical guidance and ensure that sound engineering practices are followed.

On any given day you are likely to find yourself starting off by participating in a daily scrum meeting, followed by:

• Developing software systems that incorporate optimization and visual analytics to solve complex global supply chain problems.
• Architect software solutions based on cloud-native applications.
• Working with data engineers and/or data analysts to procure and test data for input to planning systems, or mining for business insights.
• Collaborating with operations research engineers or planning analysts to provide high-quality decision support through automating business processes.
• Developing and maintaining software documentation and user manuals

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:

• Willingness to coach/mentor junior engineers.
• Excellent skills in architecture design.
• Passionate about discovering drawbacks of existing systems and working with users to improve their experience.

The position is associated with the sale of the NAND business to SK Hynix aligning to Phase 2 of the transaction. Employees aligned to Phase 2 will continue to be employed by Intel developing NAND technology and components. Phase 2 of the transaction is expected to close in March 2025 at which time employees aligned to this phase of the transaction will transition employment to Solidigm, a stand-alone US subsidiary of SK Hynix headquartered in San Jose, California with offices world-wide. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 9+ years of experience in the following:

• Building full-stack web applications and minimum 2+ years experience managing a high-performing team.
• Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure for rapid application development.
• Experience with modern PHP and JavaScript development, with frameworks such as Node.js/npm, Vue.js, react.js, etc.
• Experience with creative and intuitive data visualization (eg, D3.js).
• Experience with web frameworks and cloud services.
• Excellent knowledge of different API mechanisms such as REST and RPC/gRPC.
• Experience in developing extensible APIs and highly maintainable services.
• Experience with databases.
• Development experience in large-scale data storage and processing.
• Experience with factory systems, operations, and analytics

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 6+ years of experience in the minimum qualifications.

OR

Ph.D. degree in Computer Science with 4+ years of experience in the minimum qualifications.

Working Model
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
