Job Description

The Components Research group delivers innovative semiconductor and packaging technologies research and development. The group focuses on unique, enabling capabilities across all aspects of Intel’s semiconductor processing roadmap. Components Research engineers engage in diverse teams targeting novel devices/interconnects/patterning, materials and integration schemes across a wide variety of novel applications. In this position, you will be responsible for fabricating, testing and characterizing materials, processes and tools for a variety of programs within Components Research. A deep understanding of plasma-material interactions and process engineering is a must, including the sources of variability and instability. You will need to efficiently communicate and collaborate daily with other groups to determine and validate success criteria. Independent design and follow-through of unique, enabling ideas is a key expectation from this role. This position includes sustaining ownership of process equipment and collaboration with external research groups and vendor programs.

Qualifications

You must possess the below requirements to be initially considered for this position.

Knowledge and/or experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork and/or classes and/or research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Qualifications:

• You must possess a minimum of a Ph.D. degree majoring in Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Applied Physics, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry or related field

Additional qualifications include:

• Multiple first author publications in refereed journals exhibiting keen experimental insight, meticulous analyses and novel thought.
• Demonstrated hands-on, experimental approach to identifying and solving complex technical problems.
• Experience with experimental plasma processing is preferred

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
