IT Operational Analyst – £200-250 Per Day Inside IR35 – 3 Month Rolling Contract
Overview:
An exciting opportunity to join a multi-billion pound organisation within the transportation sector, you will be working on one of the largest railway projects in the UK to date. You will be responsible for providing in-year accurate, robust and timely operational transactional management of the IT budget, including monthly operational forecasts, quarterly operational planning and variance analysis, working closely with the Finance Business Partner. In addition you are responsible for IT single and multi-year operational planning, IT Workforce Management and also contribute to the identification of cost reduction opportunities and continuous improvement opportunities. Hybrid working out of Birmingham office.
Role & Responsibilities:
·Operational transactions for the IT budget, including accruals, invoices, journals, recharges, identification of spend to be capitalised on the balance sheet; working closely with the Finance Business Partner.
·Ensure the information provided from these operational transactions is at the level and quality needed to control, manage and record the IT costs.
·Provide detailed monthly variance and trend analysis and insight, including the identification of cost reduction opportunities and financial risks.
·Preparation of monthly operational forecasts through liaising with IT SLT members.
·Respond to ad hoc requests and issues.
·Preparation of operational planning data for single and multi-year planning; working closely with the Finance Business Partner.
·Responsible for IT Workforce headcount data, maintaining an up to date view and monitoring against headcount targets; working closely with the Business Management team and HR.
·Responsible for identification of continuous improvement opportunities.
·Actively promote and embed Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work, and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.
Essential Skills & Experience:
·Ability to work collaboratively both within IT and with Directorates outside of IT in relation to operational transactions.
·Financial awareness, such as an understanding of accruals and prepayments.
·Ability to be self-sufficient and pro-active in managing and prioritising own workload and analysing data to prove useful management information to key stakeholders.
·Excel and analytical skills.
·Ability to interpret and prioritise transactional information.
·Knowledge of ERP systems.
·Compiling and analysing operational forecasts and planning.
