About the role
We are looking for a Risk Management Specialist to join our North American Operational Risk Management (IT) team.
In this high-visibility role that includes regular meetings with Information Technology (IT) senior management, you will play an essential role in supporting Intact in terms of IT governance and management.
Reporting to the Manager, Operational Risk Management (IT), you will provide consultation and independent challenge to ensure operational IT risks are identified and sufficiently managed through a prudent and methodological approach.
WORKPLACE: This role can be located anywhere in Canada.
What you’ll do here:
Contribute to the operational risk management program and enhancement of its maturity while ensuring the use of tools and technologies that maximise efficiency.
Support the business units to identify, assess, measure, monitor, mitigate and report of their key operational IT risks.
Review and challenge of IT risk management activities in a diplomatic and effective manner.
Coordinate, support, and challenge IT risk and control assessments.
Ensure proper IT incident management and resolution, including any lessons learned.
Assist in the maintenance of our operational IT risk management supporting documents (e.g., strategy, policies, standards, procedures / processes, guidelines), tools and technologies.
Foster coordination between the three lines of defense related to operational IT risks and promote appropriate information sharing across and within.
Assist in the further enhancement of our IT Risk Intelligence System (IRIS). IRIS enhances our leadership’s ability to make more informed decisions and manage top IT risks.
Engage stakeholders to promote a strong risk culture and ensure proper training and support on operational IT risk management documents, tools and technologies.
Assist in the operational risk reporting cycle and operation of the quarterly Compliance and Operational Risk Committee.
Further strengthen and build new relationships with business, technical and security stakeholders.
Qualifications
What you bring to the table:
University degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Security or equivalent experience.
1+ years of experience in automating business processes (including reporting).
3+ years of experience in organizational change management, project management, business process management, and / or application development.
5+ years of broad based experience in technology and cyber risk management and / or IT related functions.
CRISC, CISA, CISSP, CISM, CCSP, CCSK, ITIL, PMP and / or Microsoft certifications are an asset.
Bilingual (English and French) considered an asset.
You are:
Self-motivated team player with the ability to manage multiple work streams and ad-hoc tasks simultaneously.
Broad knowledge of industry standards and best practices in the areas of Enterprise Architecture, Data Governance, Information Security, IT Service Delivery and Management, Planning and Portfolio Management, Procurement and / or Software Engineering.
Well versed in written and verbal communication skills with the ability to contribute meaningfully to meetings with senior IT professionals.
Familiar with “leading practices” of delivering oversight to business, technical and security stakeholders.
Able to demonstrate the ability to review and challenge business functions in a diplomatic and effective manner.
