About the role

About Software Engineering:
Our Software Engineering team consists of a group of talented, diverse, and open-minded professionals who are working towards transforming systems using new modern technology stack.

We are looking for leaders who are driven, enthusiastic, and innovative to lead high-performing multidisciplinary software development teams that deliver initiatives to support Intact’s distribution and related technologies.

Our engineering team is undergoing rapid evolution to keep up with the rapid pace of technological changes. Working closely with IT Leadership to ensure ongoing focus on reusability and scalability to maximize return on the suite of applications while implementing and strengthening Test Drive Development practices across multiple squads.

We are also looking for Managers with such expertise as Artificial Intelligence, Data & Analytics, Web Development, Software Architecture, Software Development, Mobile Development and DevOps. You will have experience with some of the following technologies like Python, Guidewire, Java, Angular, Applications frameworks, CSS, HTLM, REST, JSON, Kotlin, Salesforce, SOAP, XML, WSDL, OpenShift, Kafka, Elastic Search, and much more. Our tech stacks are impressive and innovative.

We are looking for passionate, forward thinking, and experienced Managers to help us in our innovation and digital journey, leveraging full stack development and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to transform the way we do insurance.

You will be part of the larger technical leadership community solving technical challenges and influencing our long-term technical strategy, accountable for leading, inspiring, energizing and ensuring high engagement of a cross-functional team.

You are passionate about building scalable enterprise software with high quality. You are a strategic thinker and a proven development leader delivering complex software integrated with enterprise services to provide a high-level user experience aligned with the best industry standards. You are always ready to roll-up your sleeves and dive into technical and architecture challenges helping your team make the right, forward-thinking decisions for our business stakeholders and the organization as a whole.

Qualifications

You will:
Lead a multidisciplinary team, managing their career development, and day to day challenges

Lead the agile practice and principles to influence your team in applying it daily

Be responsible for setting and implementing the technological vision for developing software to serve company needs

Be aggressive in driving progress to the implementation of our Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery and end-to-end Automation practices

Work closely with IT Leadership to ensure ongoing focus on reusability and scalability to maximize returns on the suite of applications

Maintain proficient knowledge of industry trends and technology innovation, identifying opportunities and suggesting solutions as appropriate

Collaborate with other Software Engineering Managers and Project Managers to ensure all initiatives have appropriate staffing, balancing business need with the individual’s experience and career aspirations

Work with various technical stakeholders to integrate digital and customer experience best practices, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning.

As we strive for continuous improvement, evolve our Agile practices based on learnings throughout the end-to-end development lifecycle
