Insurity’s next Collections Specialist

Our Collections Specialist will report to the Accounting Manager and work closely with a second Collections Specialist to facilitate collections efforts for Insurity. Their responsibilities include working closely with Insurity’s customers and internal resources to ensure prompt payment and dispute resolution as appropriate.

What You’ll Do

• Be responsible for Collections and activity commentary
• Determine accounts requiring collection activity
• Follow up on collection activity and client promises to pay
• Maximize cash flow through continued collections efforts following protocol, client payment methodology, and proper remittance support
• Ensure payment terms are respected
• Understand and monitor the timing of large and/or critical clients and their payments
• Deliver month-end and periodic reporting on cash collections and receivables to partners
• Provide a weekly forecast for upcoming payments to be received from clients
• Monitor and report out results on the prior week’s forecast
• Support month-end close processes for bad debt analysis
• Advise and role model timely and effective customer service, dispute management, and dispute resolution
• Research account requests, disputes, and invoicing discrepancies
• Perform client account reconciliations including comparing to client contracts
• Communicate and follow up through resolution with clients and business partners
• Build and maintain relationships with clients and colleagues
• Supervise and respond to all emails timely relating to AR sent to Insurity Accounting or own alias – 1 business day SLA for first response
• Provide timely reporting for lockbox cash collections and account balances
• Research and resolve all unapplied cash application queries and client deposits received without corresponding remittance
• Develop cross-functional policies and procedures to drive timely collections
• Maintain desktop procedures for all tasks and processes
• Identify and partner with clients to move payment method to ACH

Who You Are

• A Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, accounting, or related field with at least 5 years of related experience, and relevant work in AR collections will be considered in lieu of a degree
• Excellent verbal and written communication and proven ability to partner effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Skillful in data analysis, strategic thinking, and problem-solving, with a focus on risk management
• An excellent understanding of the general quote-to-cash and procure-to-pay cycles, especially in the SAAS technology industry
• Experience leading, coaching, or mentoring individuals and/or teams
• Experience in Intacct and Salesforce a bonus

Where: This role can be performed either remotely or based in our Hartford, CT office.
