Institute of Technology is seeking a General Education Instructor who has a passion for teaching and assisting their team in developing exceptional educational methodologies.

General Education Instructors are responsible for communicating class content to students so that learning occurs, skills are developed, and students are motivated to continue to learn and to achieve their educational objectives in areas specific to Psychology, Biology, Mathematics, Pharmacology, Humanities, Ethics, and Anatomy & Physiology.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Hybrid Learning Environment (Temporary or Permanent)

• Interact with students in a professional manner, offering constructive, encouraging, and timely feedback.
• Conduct, video lectures and/or discussions (using Zoom and/or Microsoft Teams).
• Provide tutoring to students, who are having difficulty with course material; virtually and in person. Counsel students regarding their performances in the course (both positive and negative). Work creatively to discourage student withdrawal in all classes taught.
• Encourage critical thinking, participation, and discussion by all students.
• Provide timely grade postings and feedback. Grade examinations and provide remediation (as applicable).
• Administer examinations according to schedule announced to students in course outline.
• Participate actively in course discussions, ensuring that all students are participating and interacting with one another. Facilitate discussion, call attention to other approaches, and answer specific questions raised by students.
• Respond to written assignments with personalized comments.

On-Campus Instruction

• Distribute a class syllabus to all students within the first class sessions.
• Prepare and grade applicable on-campus examinations based upon course objectives.

Overall

• Teach the depth and scope of class material as outlined in the syllabus and approved course outline.
• Attend communication meetings, faculty meetings, in-service sessions, student orientation, graduation, and other school events as required by the school.
• Maintain professional appearance.
• Substitute in classes when necessary.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from a college or university recognized by the US Department of Education
• Able to use and navigate Microsoft Office programs
• Able to work independently and coordinate/collaborate work with colleagues and peers in a team environment
• Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, problem-solving, and counseling skills
• Strong history of work experience in a related field or program

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 – $33.00 per hour
