Job Description

The Program Chair provides collaborative leadership to faculty within the Cardiovascular Sonography program and serves as the liaison between department faculty and college staff.

Responsibilities and Duties:

· Assist the Admissions team with product knowledge.

· Implement retention programs.

· Heighten department curriculum and oversee new development.

· Develop and maintain stability and quality of instructors.

· Work wit instructors, career services and students to maximize student’s readiness for placement.

· Stay informed of industry standards and incorporate into program accordingly.

· Participate in college trainings as relevant.

· Work with peers and supervisors to determine one’s professional ability and interests contribute to the student and programmatic success.

· Remain current in one’s field.

Knowledge and Skills:

· Ability to provide a positive and effective learning environment.

· Understanding of educational environments and the needs of the adult learner.

· Understanding of professional career paths for which students are enrolled.

· Dedicated and enthusiastic for teaching.

Credentials and Experience:

· Competence in curriculum development.

· Appropriate credentials specific to the position offered.

· Equivalent of two years clinical experience as a general sonographer, cardiac sonographer and or vascular technologist.

· An academic degree not lower than an associates degree, and at least equal to that for which the students in the program are being prepared for.

Licensure Certification

Minimum Required ARDMS

· Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in Cardio and or vascular.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $99,464.00 – $252,705.00 per year
