Position Summary: This position will help drive decisions by providing financial data, variance analysis and explanations including economic trends, develop operating plans and ad-hoc business projects. The right candidate will be self-motivated with a financial modeling background, have strong intellectual curiosity, a keen attention to detail and a solid understanding of financial statements. The candidate must have an ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to balance competing priorities with regular interaction among various business units across Instinct. Additionally, the role requires strong people skills with an ability to provide meaningful suggestions and actionable insight, backed by data driven analysis.

Primary Job Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an effective process for forecasting and tracking of promotional expenses.
• Communicate monthly on promotional spend variances to forecast.
• Calculate monthly accruals for promotional spend.
• Participate in trend analysis and ad hoc data related activities; effectively communicate insights to management in a clear and concise manner.
• Code outbound freight and 3PL invoices.
• Analyze outbound freight costs by customer and pound to help identify savings opportunities.
• Assist with forecasting and tracking of operating expenses
• Prepare, present, and drive continuous improvement to monthly reporting of operations support financial results.
• Contributes to preparation of management reports and executive presentations.
• Update and enhance existing reports and create financial dashboards to track KPIs.
• Assess data quality, troubleshoot data anomalies and coding errors, maintain data and reporting integrity.
• Develops and maintains excellent relationships with colleagues across business units / departments to foster an effective cross functional working environment and collaborative spirit.
• Drive continuous improvement objectives to achieve savings.
• Ability to collaborate with internal management to fit specific needs of each project.
• Cross train as needed to back up other finance and business intelligence personnel.
• Assist with additional projects as assigned to meet needs of the organization.

Skills and Technical Expertise:

• Previous experience in data mining, analysis and reporting is required.
• Advanced MS Office skills with strong focus on Excel is required.
• Some Experience/understanding with SQL and ability to create queries to extract data.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Highly developed project management and communication skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships both externally and internally.

Preferred Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or other related discipline and
• 1-3 equivalent years of experience
