In alignment with the college’s strategic plan and priorities, the Talent Acquisition Manager develops strategies and provides overall guidance to attract and retain high-quality faculty and staff and oversees the systems, policies and procedures related to recruitment and retention.
The Talent Acquisition Manager continually improves the recruitment and employment experience for applicants, hiring managers, staff, and faculty.
In addition, the Talent Acquisition Manager is responsible for managing unemployment compensation and background checks for the college.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
What you will do in this role :
RECRUITMENT : Oversee the recruitment process for the college, implementing creative, cost-effective strategies for attracting, selecting, and maintaining high-quality talent.
Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with hiring managers, search chairs, and search committee members to develop, implement, and improve the college’s approach to recruitment.
Provide coaching and serve as a resource throughout the recruitment process on best practices and procedures for conducting successful searches.
Ensure the recruitment process meets all employment laws, regulations, and college standards.
Manage candidate communications and information to ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the search process. Function as the primary recruiter for designated positions.
Conduct ongoing analysis to determine how recruitment processes may be streamlined, and department resources can be most effectively deployed.
Serve as liaison with executive search firms and / or staffing agencies as needed.
APPLICANT TRACKING SYSTEM (ATS) : Serve as primary liaison / subject matter expert and lead the ongoing development, integration, and enhancements of a robust ATS that supports data-driven decisions.
Leverage system capabilities to create a positive experience for applicants and internal system users and create helpful employment s and metrics regarding recruitment and hiring activity.
Offer continuous improvements and enhancements to the system and assess how best to maximize the use of the system. Develop training and reference materials for college constituents.
OUTREACH / DIVERSITY : Develop targeted outreach strategies related to recruitment. Represent the college at internal and external recruitment-related events such as job fairs, career days, and other community outreach activities.
Understand and contribute to implementing departmental and college goals for achieving non-discrimination and creating a respectful, inclusive environment.
Continually improve AACC’s employment brand and promote the college as an employer of choice.
TRAINING – Plan, design, and implement college-wide training and education for all areas of responsibility, including search committee and ATS training for staff, faculty, hiring managers, and search committee chairs.
Provide one-on-one training to employees as needed.
BACKGROUND INVESTIGATIONS / PRE-EMPLOYMENT PHYSICALS : Provide oversight of the background investigation process and the pre-employment physicals for designated positions.
Work closely with the background check service providers in managing contracts, accounts, and user access. Manage the receipt and retention of background check results.
Work with the Executive Director of Human Resources, Chief of Police, and Vice Presidents in interpreting investigation results and making recommendations for employment decisions.
SUPERVISION : Manage, evaluate, and coach recruitment / employment staff members, ensuring alignment of team and department objectives to overall college goals and standards.
METRICS : Track recruitment metrics and budget and provide regular updates and s. Provide data for departmental ing and presentations.
UNEMPLOYMENT : Manage the unemployment process for the college. Complete all paperwork, answer phone calls / inquiries, and attend unemployment compensation hearings as needed.
JOB DESCRIPTIONS : Manage the college’s job descriptions in the college’s applicant tracking system. Ensure all employees have accurate job descriptions.
OTHER : Serve on college-wide committees, work on special projects, and perform other related duties as requested.
Required Qualifications :
What you will bring to this position :
Master’s degree required.
Five years of experience managing recruitment and employment programs, preferably in higher education, government, or non-profit environments.
Experience managing and utilizing online applicant tracking systems. Technical aptitude, HRIS experience, and proficiency in MS Office Suite products.
Current knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to recruitment and employment. Knowledge of recruiting best practices.
Demonstrated success in building and maintaining positive relationships across an organization.
Strong work ethic and dedicated team player.
Ability to analyze information and exercise sound judgment in formulating decisions and recommendations.
Demonstrated organizational skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications :
And maybe a little of this, too (our preference, but not required)
PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM SCP, or other relevant national certification.
Experience with applicant tracking systems and ERP systems.
