This position will join the small QA Team.
This position will be on our closing-evening shift from 8 p.m. – 4:30 a.m. Monday to Friday, with various amounts of overtime and weekend during occasional sickness and vacations.
This position is eligible for our evening shift premium of $2.00
Position Purpose.
To support Quality Assurance functions and related requirements.
To satisfy requirements set forth in HACCP, Meat License, SQF, CFIA and client driven programs.
Support plant and production functions.
Complete line checks, QA checks and associated paperwork.
Time pressures, resulting in the need to work quickly and efficiently while maintaining standards.
Duties and Responsibilities.
Perform HACCP driven QA Daily Journal tasks.
Assist in the customer service program, dealing with complaints and compliments.
Perform environmental swabbing and subsequent sample submissions to external laboratories.
Support finished goods release program, i.e., daily taste panels.
Support incoming materials program, i.e., raw materials inspections.
Review batch documentation for release of finished goods.
Participate in batch sampling.
Educational Requirements.
Preference given to candidates with a Degree in Science
Must have completed college level coursework or equivalent amount of experience.
If a suitable candidate cannot be found we may consider no education on a different pay scale
Experience Requirements.
Nice to have prior (min. 2 yrs.) Quality Assurance or Quality Control experience.
Must have experience utilizing Microsoft Office, i.e. Excel.
Nice to have previous food manufacturing experience.
Other Key Considerations.
Ability to effectively communicate with production personnel.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to work weekends, when required.

Must have an eye for detail.
Must be able to interpret food safety and quality requirements.
Must be familiar with and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.
Sampling and ensuring quality is maintained and consistent throughout products will require the successful candidate to participate in taste panels and batch sampling for a wide range of allergens and meats.**
