Due to the ongoing development of our in-house system, bespoke specifically to Innovative Trials, we are looking to add a Software Tester to compliment the existing software team.

The aim of this role is to further develop/maintain Innovative Trial’s (IT) bespoke software solution (iBMS). Reporting to the Senior Software QA Associate this role will work with the Software Development Manager and the other Software Development team members as and when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Manually test areas of iBMS and to ensure that current and future enhancements are working correctly and securely to meet the business requirements.
• Clearly Document issues or errors from a User perspective from Testing or from other user feedback.
• Maintain and report JIRA ticket status in relation to testing / retesting.
• Maintain and create content within the User guides from knowledge and understanding gained whilst Testing areas.
• Provide frontline (Help Desk) support in relation to the system, User questions and any issues.
• Assist with and eventually perform User Training for existing and new Users of the system.

Detailed Responsibilities

• Learn and become adept at how to manually test areas of iBMS against JIRA tickets to ensure that there are no bugs and that the developed software meets the requirements of the tickets.
• Learn how iBMS works as a whole (following end to end processes) and help to support Users with day to day questions, issues or errors.
• Document any errors or issues in a clear and concise manner, so that developers can review and resolve.
• Learn and become adept at the generation of JIRA tickets to document requirements of future modules in consultation with other areas of the business and with guidance from the Software Development Manager and the Business Liaison/Senior Software QA Associate.

Key Skills/Attributes/Education

• A passion to learn new things and embrace the concept of IT’s Business Management System (iBMS) to achieve its aims.
• No previous Technical Tester Experience is necessary – however a keen desire to learn how to test software manually (as a User) and to learn the ability to write concise requirements (User Stories) is fundamental to this role.
• The ability to work with other members of the Software Development Team to learn how to help scope out requirements and identify processes with a methodical approach.
• A desire to investigate requirements and any “issues / bugs”, and to see tasks through to completion, sometimes at short notice is fundamental to this role.
• Ability to provide administrative support to the Team (i.e. meeting minutes, monthly reports and User Guides)
• Any experience of Manual Testing or exposure to automated testing whilst not essential would be an advantage.
• Any experience working in medical or clinical trial areas will be advantageous.
