INNOVA SEARCH Looking for Electrical Design Engineer at Chelmsford, Essex Full Time

You will deliver technically sound and accurate electrical designs for projects in a timely manner, meeting the clients and this companys requirements. Once the design has been signed off, work alongside the Project Manager and Project Engineer to support them to execute on site, assisting in any deviations.

This role is to ensure the safe & successful electrical design of projects & ongoing communication with Project Managers & Project Engineers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Produce electrical designs based on client briefs, including but not limited to:

– Specifying HV / LV / AC / DC cables.

– Undertaking cable sizing calculations and studies.

– Producing cable route drawings.

– Specifying electrical switchgear and its associated protection scheme.

– Specifying transformers and where necessary its associated protection scheme.

– Protection and Control Specification.

– Specifying LV switchgear / fusegear.

– Undertaking the design of the small power and lighting required for a substation in accordance with 18th Edition standards.

– Producing Engineering and Design reports for each design.

– Providing assistance to the Civil Design team regarding the electrical aspects of the substation design.

QUALIFICATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

HND or Bachelors degree or higher in Power Systems / Electrical Engineering Minimum of 3 years experience working in the UK electricity distribution sector

Experience of HV & LV projects including:

– Feasibility studies – Concept Design
– Detailed Design

Experience of Design at voltages up to and including 33kV Fully competent in Amtech Design ETAP, Power Factory etc.

Fully competent in Earthing Design systems
Fully competent in AutoCAD
Working knowledge of relevant technical standards
