InHome Therapy – Florida Hiring for Occupational Therapist (OT) – Home Healthcare at Port Saint Lucie, FL Full Time

InHome Therapy is currently seeking compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapists to join our home health care team in Florida. As an Occupational Therapist, you will have the rewarding opportunity to provide comprehensive rehabilitative care to patients in the comfort of their own homes.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients’ functional abilities, including activities of daily living (ADLs), cognitive skills, and environmental factors, to develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide direct patient care, including therapeutic interventions, adaptive equipment assessments, and home safety evaluations.
• Implement evidence-based occupational therapy techniques to improve patients’ independence, motor skills, sensory integration, and overall quality of life.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and caregivers to establish goals and develop personalized treatment plans to meet their specific needs.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on compensatory strategies, energy conservation techniques, and the use of adaptive equipment to enhance functional abilities and maximize independence.
• Monitor patients’ progress and adapt treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes, documenting objective measurements and observations regularly.
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and speech therapists, to ensure holistic patient care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatment sessions, progress notes, and other required paperwork in compliance with regulatory and reimbursement guidelines.
• Stay updated with current research, evidence-based practices, and industry trends in occupational therapy through continuous professional development and training opportunities.
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols during home visits, ensuring a safe environment for patients and minimizing risks.

Qualifications:

• Valid and current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Florida.
• Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy program with a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy. (Preferred)
• Previous experience as an Occupational Therapist, preferably in a home health care or community-based setting.
• In-depth knowledge of occupational therapy principles, techniques, and adaptive equipment.
• Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills to develop effective treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish rapport with patients, families, and caregivers.
• Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other relevant healthcare software.
