We are looking for a 2nd Grade Special Education teacher who is deeply committed to students, have a passion for special education, and want to grow their practice to join our team for the 2022-2023 school year.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a special education teacher at Ingenuity Prep, you will:

• Build strong relationships with students and their families as the foundation of your instructional work.
• Work with a team to provide joyful and efficient instruction that leads to exemplary student growth for elementary students – both academically and socio-emotionally — in an interventionist setting.
• Work with students with IEPs for literacy or math instruction in resource-room, push-in, or pull-out settings; plan and execute rigorous lessons for all students you work with.
• Develop and implement IEPs that meet students’ needs and support their growth; evaluate progress and efficacy of IEPs regularly.
• Use a range of summative and formative assessment data, including Achievement Network data, to thoughtfully adjust and differentiate instruction.
• Collaborate with and support colleagues in the classroom and in weekly professional development opportunities.
• Provide emotional constancy and support for your students — and your colleagues.
• Communicate and work closely with students’ families, especially regarding progress towards IEP goals.
• Receive regular, individualized coaching from IP’s instructional leadership team to grow your practice.

• You have a track record of holding high expectations for yourself and your students.
• You have experience working with STEP assessments, guided reading instruction, or Cognitively Guided Instruction (or the ability to learn these tools quickly!).
• You have a Bachelor’s Degree, and ideally certification to teach in D.C.

Pay: $60,000.00 – $93,000.00 per year
