Role: Software Engineer (C++, Image Formats)

Salary: Up to 80K

Location: Ireland (Dublin and/or Remote)

We’re looking for an experienced Senior C/C++ Engineer with experience with medical image formats and multi threaded development to join our client’s rapidly growing team.

Role and Responsibilities

• Develop complex image format support for the platform (Whole Slide Images) for Digital Pathology applications
• Develop cross platform multithreaded code optimised for high throughput
• Build and integrate 3rd party libraries
• Collaborate with colleagues on design reviews, merge requests/code reviews
• Write automated unit and integration tests
• Debug complex issues and communicate with technical and non technical stakeholders
• Formal SDLC documentation as part of release
• Collaborate with other teams and functions such as QA, test and product
• Demonstrate work regularly to internal teams and customers
• Complete all mandatory company training and job specific training required for the role, including ISMS, GLP, DocuSign, SDLC as applicable

Education / Qualifications

• Min of Bachelor Degree in Computer Science / related field

Required Experience for the Role

• Strong experience of C++ programming language essential (preferably modern C++)
• Imaging processing and development experience
• Multi-threaded development experience
• Experience in Agile development
• Experience in regulated industry highly regarded
• Analytical with a strong desire to improve product and process excellence
• Ability to work independently or as a member of a team

Additional experience in the following would be advantageous:

• Experience with Tiff, Jpeg, DICOM highly regarded
• Modern C++ 11, 14, 17, 20
• Standards and best practices for code quality, performance, and testing
• CI/CD configuration using GitLab or similar
• Automated testing skills
• Python scripting, BDD, unit test frameworks.
• Experience with GLP regulations or software will be ‘a distinct advantage.’
