We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our next-generation DNS Security SaaS Services team in Burnaby, BC , reporting to the Senior Director, Software Engineering. In this role, you will leverage cutting-edge technology, open-source initiatives, and micro-services architecture to build state-of-the-art SaaS-based solutions. You will lead and design features for our next-generation Threat Defense SaaS Services using your experience and creativity to influence our technology direction and decisions while ensuring our products are best-in-class.

What you’ll do:
Collaborate with architects and product managers to influence and create next-gen products and features
Design and develop software for a large-scale, cloud-based SaaS solution using open source technologies
Create, prototype, and implement compelling applications for different mobile form factors, with an emphasis on simplicity and usability
Deliver across the entire software app development lifecycle—design, build, deploy, test, and release
Work in an Agile/Scrum development methodology to drive key aspects of product definition, execution, and testing
Work closely with peer engineers onshore and offshore in a highly collaborative environment
Manage/deploy infrastructure and networking services in the cloud
Drive benchmarking, optimization, and fine-tuning of software performance
What you’ll bring:
8+ years of software development experience
Strong knowledge of developing and debugging in object-oriented languages such as Go, C/C++, Java, Python, or similar in a Linux environment
Strong knowledge in software design, data structures, and algorithms
Robust experience with developing microservices in large-scale deployments
Experience with AWS and Kubernetes is a big plus
General networking knowledge is desired
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, excellent problem-solving ability, and critical thinking
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Bachelor’s degree in CS, CE, or EE is required and a master’s in CS, CE, or EE is preferred

Have an in-depth understanding of current product architecture and design
Get your hands dirty in creating a new microservice
Have learned Infoblox software development processes and tools
After about a year, you will…
Deploy your own functional microservice running in production
Resolve critical customer and production issues
Work on complex features independently
