Title of position: Standby/Firewatch Attendants
Hourly: $21.50/hr
Duration: Approx. April 5th – April 25th, 2023
Location of work: Kamloops, BC.

Job Description:
Industrial Scaffold Services L.P. is a Nanaimo, BC based industrial scaffolding company that focuses on scaffolding, environmental containment, rescue (high angle/confined space), confined space monitoring, and insulating work located in
Western Canada. We are looking for Standby/Firewatch Attendants for our Kamloops location. The right candidate will have a good attitude and work ethic and must be willing to assist the CSEW Rescue Manager and team during shutdown.

Requirements:

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• Must have reliable transportation to get to and from job site.
• Must have basic computer knowledge (initial training is provided online).
• Fluent English is preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly over radio.
• Ability to work long hours and shift work.
• Must provide their own 6” ankle covering steel toed work boots.
• Previous job-related experience is an asset.

Additional Training or Tickets: (Asset but no required):

• Confined Space Entry Certificate
• Gas Testing Certificate
• H25 Certificate
• Any other safety related tickets

Responsibilities:

• Participate in all pre-job, and daily toolbox meetings.
• Complete daily Field Level Hazard Assessments at the start of each day.
• Responsible for Confined Space Monitoring; ensure permits, hazard assessments/rescue plans are in place, and atmospheric testing has been done. Record entrant’s time in/time out on appropriate Record Log. Inform Emergency

Rescue Team in the event of an emergency; Alert and safely evacuate entrants.

• Monitor Hot Work Activities; Roam and visually inspect Hot Work areas, Operate fire extinguisher/pressurized water cans/water hose. Inform Emergency Rescue Team in the event of an Emergency; Alert and safely evacuate workers.
• Identify and assess work place hazards; implement controls.
• Communicate work place hazards with Supervisor.
• Wear all required PPE; including respirator protection, if necessary, in your work area.
• Ensure all paperwork is legible and filled out correctly prior to handing in.
