JOB DESCRIPTION

Title: Staff Accountant

Supervisor: Controller

Classification: Exempt

Work Location: Vero Beach, FL

General Function

The Accountant is responsible for carrying out general accounting, finance, and service as accounts payable and payroll back up on an enterprise level.

Mission

Perform core accounting activities to ensure timely reporting for management. Maintain appropriate controls and ensures adequate documentation are properly stored in digital archives.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Timely and accurate completion of all assigned tasks

Roles & Responsibilities

Financial Reporting

• Perform general accounting activities associated with the creation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Maintain general ledger with strict adherence to GAAP
• Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
• Monthly reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts

Audit

• Assist in the annual independent audit process
• Assist the monitoring of controls and perform internal audit procedures

Other

• Additional tasks assigned by the Controller
• Ability to take ownership assigned task and ensure timely and complete results
• Provide continuity and assistance to Accounts Payable as needed
• Provide continuity and assistance to Payroll as needed

Education, Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting Required
• 3+ Years’ Experience in Accounting Required
• ERP Systems Experience Preferred
