Your Job

The Senior Software Engineer is part of our Solutions Team within the Indeed Hiring Platform and is responsible for the design and implementation of technical solutions to help our clients automate their recruitment through to interview. This Senior Software Engineer must have a mix of technical, business and interpersonal skills to create strategic decisions geared towards Indeed Hiring Platform’s clients.
This role will report to our Director of Engineering and is expected to collaborate closely with Product Managers to deliver customized solutions but also determine opportunities to incorporate those solutions into the broader Indeed Hiring Platform Roadmap.

Responsibilities:
  • Partner with our Product Managers to translate customer business needs into workable, technical solutions on the Indeed Hire platform in a timely manner.
  • Joins and participates in client calls to best understand end to end client needs.
  • Partners with internal stakeholders to influence action on unique client requests.
  • Regularly communicates project updates, progress, risks, and issues to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Understands costs associated with scope of work and can form solutions that are profitable for the company.
  • Provides support across multiple concurrent complex projects.
  • Collaborate with product managers, UX designers and engineers to translate product needs into domain-driven services and APIs
  • Build services and APIs using Java frameworks (such as Spring Boot) to support customer-facing web/mobile applications


Who You Are


  • Requirements:
    • Experience with service-oriented architectures, APIs including GraphQL, gRPC, Protobuf, and REST
    • Experience with full stack application development (Python/Django/React), including services development in Java
    • 4+ years of software development experience with programming languages such as Java, C#/C++, or Go
    • Deep understanding of best engineering practices for the full software development life cycle (SDLC), including coding standards, code review, source control, build, test, deploy, and operations
    • Experience building highly scalable distributed systems
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field (Master’s is a plus)

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed’s total compensation package for employees.
