Your Job
As a software engineer, you will work as part of the Enterprise Advertiser team, working across and creating a range of applications designed for advertisers to get the best performance from their ads on Indeed. This includes making sure that formerly-separate ads products are easily available within Indeed Ads, and ensuring that Indeed Ads are available anywhere they are needed within the Indeed ecosystem.
You will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and testable solutions using bleeding edge technology with current best practices. A part of the role will require cross team collaboration and mentorship of the more junior members of the team.
Responsibilities:
- Owning entire projects, from working with a Product Manager and a UX Designer on the problem being solved, possible solutions, the UI design, implementation and analytics. You should possess a mix of technical strength, business strength and good product ideas.
- Collaborate with designers, product managers and other engineers to design product experiences
- Build scalable solutions that will interact with other systems within the organisation
- Develop front-end applications using industry best practices and adhering to Indeeds UI standards, using modern Javascript and Typescript frameworks (such as React).
- Write effective backend systems which are maintainable and business focused.
- Continually improve our technical stack and processes
- Maintain existing tools and infrastructure as necessary
- Participate in usability testing
- Help drive the technical direction of the product and mentor other team members
Who You Are
We’re looking for someone who:
- Understands the end user and can build simple, elegant solutions
- Thinks about why something needs to be built, not just what needs to be built
- Loves to learn and develop new skills continuously
- Is willing to work in a tech stack deemed most suitable for the project
- Is excited to work on testing a variety of product ideas, either currently underway or conceived in the future
Requirements:
- BS or MS in Computer Science (or equivalent)
- Experience developing front-end systems, with knowledge of React an advantage
- Experience with backend and API development across the full development lifecycle.
- Knowledge of Java, .Net or Python is essential
- Understanding of system design patterns and best practices
- Working knowledge of Agile practices
- Experience with unit testing and automated testing a plus
- Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills
- Strong team ethic

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Indeed salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include quarterly bonuses, long term incentives, an open Paid Time Off policy, and many region-specific benefits.
