The Role

Incitec Pivot Fertilisers also boasts having Australia’s oldest soil testing service and in 2013 celebrated 50 years of providing continuous nutritional analytical services for farmers. An opportunity has become available for an R&D Agronomist to join our team. Being an integral member of our Agronomy & Innovation team, you will be responsible for;

Managing the lab based trials from request to planning, execution through third party, results analysis and report writing

Running and Maintaining the Glasshouse

Managing the field trials from request to planning, execution through third party, results analysis and report writing

Assisting in developing a digital format of trial register and database of trial protocols and reports

Working with field agronomist to ensure field trials are relevant and reports assist the agronomy team

Identifying and establishing professional relationship with both internal & external stakeholders (field trial consultants, contractors etc)

About You

Reporting to the Director of Research & Development, you will be responsible for planning, preparing and organising field trials with external contractors, ensuring they are carried out in accordance with the requirements of the study plan, appropriate regulatory standards as well as relevant Standard Operating Procedures. With a strong commitment to safety, good time management and prioritisation skills, you would also have;

A bachelor’s Degree in Agronomy

A postgraduate Degree in Agronomy, or research-based field is highly regarded

Solid professional experience as either a field agronomist or in a research-based role, with a good understanding of soil science, agronomy, plant nutrition & physiology

The ability to interpret and analyse data and results

A good knowledge of SOP, QA and QC protocols

Excellent computer literacy, with proficient use of MS Office programs, and the ability to learn new software

Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
