The Student Mentoring Scheme Coordinator will administer and support the implementation and on-going development of a new mentoring scheme, launching in October 2022. The new mentoring scheme is being designed to support students who are from groups that are currently underrepresented at the College. After a pilot year (focusing on PhD students of Black heritage and Presidential Scholarship recipients of Black heritage at undergraduate and master’s level) the scheme will likely be extended to support students from other groups and/or other scholarship recipients.
In partnership with the College’s student networks, the student mentoring scheme has been developed by several different teams across the College.
The Student Mentoring Scheme Coordinator will be based within the Graduate School, which is leading the training and development programme for mentors, but there will be opportunity to work with all contributors to the scheme, including the College’s students.
The Student Mentoring Scheme Coordinator will lead the administration and organisation of the scheme, will provide administrative support for the training and development of mentors, play a lead role in matching mentors with mentees and will coordinate a programme of events, cohort activities and networking opportunities for scheme participants. The Student Mentoring Coordinator will also lead the annual impact review of the scheme and make recommendations for its future development.
