Imerys Hiring for Automation Engineer Job at Marble Hill, GA Full Time

Based at our plant in Marble Hill, GA, Imerys is hiring an Automation Engineer to lead the digital transformation of our US South Hub industrial operations.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Work with Site Automation Engineers to evaluate, deploy and support automation and IIoT infrastructure.

• Provide IIoT/automation technical support and execution of projects from initial concept to closeout.

• Configure and maintain manufacturing execution systems, process control systems, historians, and interfaces between these systems and enterprise resource planning systems.

• Interact with IT Infrastructure & network teams to ensure the performance of the application & systems

• Troubleshoot and assist users with issues related to MES, HMIs and related equipment/ systems.

• Work with Site Automation engineers to install / repair and maintain PLCs, sensors and IIoT devices.

• Manage and implement IIoT field deployments.

• Provide documentation and training on IIoT applications and devices for the operations and maintenance teams.

• Point of contact with external contractors for automation related issues and enhancements.

• Implementation of new technologies through POCs and deployment projects.

• Support sites in maintaining automation systems, software and hardware.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Experience with Process control equipment including PLCS, HMIs, SCADA systems.

• Solid understanding of OPC/ OPC UA and Modbus, Profitbus and MQTT.

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure and IIoT cloud services

• Knowledge of GE Plant applications, historians and OPC collectors is a plus.

• Experience with databases and SQL.

• Knowledge of business systems such as ERP and CMMS and their secure interaction with industrial networks.

• Familiar with Industry 4.0 technologies such as IIOT, Big Data analysis/cloud computing, augmented reality, simulation, robotics, drones

• Ability to troubleshoot/analyze issues and translate internal customer needs.

• Good understanding of object-oriented programming, VBScript. and SQL.

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering, preferably electrical and/or automation engineering/technology-Preferred
