We currently have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and energetic Financial professional to join our team as a Financial Accountant. This is a new position and is a fantastic opportunity for anyone with Finance generalist experience who is looking to increase their skill set and advance their career with a large organisation.

About the role / Business Unit

This role will be responsible for the preparation of monthly financial reporting for the illion Group, ensuring compliance with all accounting standards, legal, taxation and internal policy.

Duties

• Owns the month-end close process in accordance with the reporting timetable.
• Preparation of journal entries in the general ledger with supporting calculations and work papers.
• Liaison with the FP&A team and Business Unit stakeholders to ensure accuracy of the month-end numbers through analysis and reporting.
• Analysis of movements in key general ledger accounts prior to closing the month-end results, to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Maintain strong financial controls, including preparation of reconciliations for all general ledger accounts, ensuring that all balance sheet reconciliations are completed by the 15th of each month, and all reconciling items are appropriately explained, supported and, where necessary, actioned.

Skills & Experience

• Excellent attention to detail
• Great ability in presenting and communicating information
• Exceptional analyzing and problem solving skills
• Strong collaboration and teamwork ethic
• Tertiary qualification in Accounting or similar + CA or CPA qualification (non-negotiable)
• Previous experience as part of a finance team in industry or with public accounting firm (non-negotiable)
