IHRC, Inc. provides scientific, information management, management consulting, bioinformatics, and administrative program support to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other Federal and private sector clients. The successful candidate will be a full-time employee of IHRC, Inc. and will be assigned to the National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases (NCEZID) and the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases (NCIRD) at the CDC, 1600 Clifton Road, Atlanta, GA.

SCOPE OF WORK

The SAS Programmer will support a team of specialist scientists participating in the development and validation of in vitro diagnostic tests for point-of-care detection of bacterial infections, and the development of immune correlates of protection models for a range of bacterial vaccine preventable diseases. Duties will include the development of analytic methods and computational processes for the detection and quantification of bacterial antigens and antibodies reactive against specific components of infectious organisms. Additionally, responsibilities will include the evaluation of binding antibodies and functional antibodies and other immunological parameters, analysis of laboratory data, and preparation of summary s. Duties must be performed in compliance with local and federal quality systems. Documentation of daily work with good laboratory practice compliance is required.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Development of computational methods for analysis of data from in vitro diagnostic tests and devices to diagnose bacterial infections.
• Implementation of analytical software and analysis of cell based assays and serological assays including lateral flow technologies, data capture and ing.
• Analysis of laboratory data, development of transition plans for correlates of protection data to support regulatory submissions and assistance in the preparation of summary s.

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

• Master’s or higher degree in statistics, mathematics, natural science, or a field related to the responsibilities of the position.

Required:

• Extensive experience working with statistical software such as SAS, Stata, or similar software
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to efficiently organize multiple priorities
• Documentation of daily work with good laboratory practice compliance
• Ability to perform duties in compliance with local and federal quality systems
• Ability to work and build coalitions with partners involved, and develop strategies for effectively conveying information to partners
• Ability to work independently and yet to maintain the flexibility to respond to additional requests
• Skills and experience writing project s, research protocols and manuscripts

Desirable:

• Experience developing analytic methods and computational processes for the detection and quantification of bacterial antigens and antibodies reactive against specific components of infectious organisms.
• Experience with Case-Control study design and analysis, genomic and protein sequence analysis, machine learning, data mining, biological system modeling and numerical simulation.
• Proficiency with MS Access
• Programming skills in C++, Java, or Python
• Experience with R
• Experience working in a similar capacity in a Public Health setting

Language Skills:

• The candidate must possess excellent oral and written communication skills in English
