As the first InterContinental Resort to land in Australia, InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort reflects the grand, graceful architecture of a classic Queensland estate, nestled within the beautiful surrounds of Sanctuary Cove. Surrounded by 4.2 hectares of lush landscaping with the show-stopping beach lagoon at the centre, the Resort has 251 distinctive rooms all boasting private balconies, 15 diverse indoor and outdoor meeting and events spaces and 5 restaurants & bars.

Your day to day

ing to the General Manager, the Director of Engineering will continuously drive and identify revenue, product and guest experience enhancement opportunities in line with the engineering department budget. You will have experience in Capital Projects Management.

You’ll be an integral member of the leadership team, overseeing the full scope of the engineering, maintenance, landscaping, sewerage, water treatment and utility operations. Working to tight deadlines, it’s a fast-paced department that requires strong organisational and collaborative skills, to ensure that brand standards are met and any federal, state, and/or local regulatory requirements are maintained.

You’ll also play a key role in creating a positive and productive work environment; building, motivating and upskilling the Engineering department to ensure they are highly engaged.

Working to tight deadlines, it’s a fast-paced role that requires strong organisational and collaborative skills, to ensure that brand standards are met and any federal, state, and/or local regulatory requirements are maintained.

What We Need From You

To be successful in this role you will need to have a strong background and knowledge across a broad range of trades, with electrical skills highly regarded. With 2-3 year experience in a similar role or in a senior engineering capacity within a hotel, resort environment or complex environment, you will have proven ability to manage multiple and varying projects.

You will have the ability to work alongside a team and collaborate with key stakeholders with a sense of urgency. Strategic thinking, the ability to explore new ways of working and an open mind around how we can drive the Engineering Department forward and partner with other areas of the operation to deliver unrivalled guest journeys will be highly advantageous. Flexibility to work a varied roster including, late evenings, weekends and public holidays is also required.
