Your day to day
This exciting opportunity as the Area Director of Finance & Business Support holds full responsibility for the financial operations and security of the Hotel’s assets across your base Hotel, Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley, and Regional NSW Portfolio Hotels – voco Kirkton Park Hunter Valley, Crowne Plaza Terrigal and Crowne Plaza Hawkesbury Valley. Partnering with the Area General Manager, your financial, commercial and influencing skills will allow you to drive change and contribute to the overall success of the Hotel’s strategic goals and profitability. As an important part of the Executive Leadership team, you’ll be the key financial business support to all stakeholders of the business at Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley . You’ll lead and develop a small team at Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley, as well as Finance Leaders across your portfolio, developing the finance talent within the wider business. You’ll be the first point of contact for all financial operations with owners, auditors (internal and external) and regulatory agencies. You’ll be required to provide timely financial analysis and reporting for effective decision making to the Hotel Leadership Team, in addition to driving superior financial performance of the Hotel and leaning in to support your Finance Leads in your portfolio.
What we need from you
• 4-8 years’ experience in Hotel finance/accounting with at least 3+ years experience in a Financial management role • Degree qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Commerce • Professional accounting or certification such as CPA or ICA is preferred • Knowledge of accounting management duties e.g. negotiating hotel space and tenant leases, processing payroll, performing asset management duties, providing business projections, displacement analysis and preparing government reports highly regarded • Strong leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively and champion change • Excellent communication and strong analytical skills • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects, stakeholders and priorities at a time • You must meet the legal requirements to live & work in Australia.
