This position would be perfect for an experienced, energetic primary school teacher with a real love for inspiring youngsters, that’s looking for a couple of hours of extra work in the evenings, to compliment their full time job.

We are expanding our service offering to include primary level tuition, teaching Literacy and Maths classes to students in years 4 – 6. We’re looking for someone to support this expansion into primary tuition, taking on and teaching primary classes for a few hours on weekday evenings.

The teacher we choose to work with will have some years experience of teaching in primary schools. Teaching small groups as a tutor is far different to teaching in a school. As a tutor, it’s crucial to be friendly and approachable since parent and student communication is a big part of the role. It’s equally important to us to find someone that can creatively design and deliver lessons that really make students eager to return each week. To summarise what we’re looking for:

• Primary school tutor with QTS, to teach students in years 4 – 6
• Teaching Literacy and Maths
• Teaching hours (subject to change): Tuesday-Thursday, 3 slots each day between 4:00 and 7:30pm (Teacher would teach 2-3 hours per evening)
• Teaching small class groups of 4-10 children, 1 hour lessons (often with extra TA support)
• Teacher plans every lesson, and sets 1 homework to each of their classes each week
• Teacher available and willing to take on responsibility for all communication from parents of children they teach
• Teacher will be a ‘subcontractor’, not an employee, paid cash in hand £40 per lesson
• To start teaching directly after Easter holidays, with some time in the weeks prior overseeing classes to get a feel for everything

Job Types: Part-time, Freelance
Part-time hours: 6-9 per week

Salary: £40.00 per hour
