Job Summary

Working in a highly vibrant and fast-moving sector, the Finance Director will work alongside the Managing Director to provide sound financial management and forward planning expertise.

They will be supporting a high-growth, global company that requires a flexible but disciplined approach to financial planning. They will be involved in all strategic areas of the business including expansion plans and future fundraising. They must have excellent managerial and operational leadership qualities.

Responsibilities and duties

• Be part of raising the culture from a £12mn turnover company to £30mn+
• Develop financial metrics for measuring progression during the business transition.
• Oversight and management of the Finance Team.
• Review of monthly management accounts with variance analysis and explanations.
• Oversight of annual preparation of accounts and liaison with external accountants.
• Prepare financial reports for Executives, Board, and Investors on a monthly, quarterly, annual basis.
• Work with MD to set annual budgets and work with Board to create agreement on growth targets.
• Ongoing financial planning for the current year and future-looking including forecasting of balance sheet and cash flow positions.
• Work with MD and Chairman to drive fundraising initiatives and ensure the right mix of debt and equity.
• Ensure compliance with all covenants associated with debt provisions including new hires, Capex, and lease commitments
• Support Company secretary with share registrations.
• Oversight of the Employee Remuneration Committee to include Share Option scheme
• Prepare R&D tax credits analysis and explanations
• Drive the operating model to ensure project margins are maintained and identify areas for improvement and efficiencies for production and deliveries.
• Work alongside Sales to determine partnership pricing for Channel Partners and other partnership initiatives.
• Set and review Capex budget and requests
• Be a source for escalation for specific accounting and reporting issues.
• Support MD and Chairman with Investor Relations

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent Professional Accountancy Qualification

Skills and experience

• Proven track record at Board level, supporting a fast-growing business.
• Experience of overseas expansion and establishment of foreign subsidiaries
• Experience with leading finance teams from management to financial accounts.
• Excellent communicator and problem solver
• Some fundraising experience would be beneficial
