What You Will Do
The role of Key Account Manager is responsible for developing strategies designed to drive profitable growth at Walmart and other assigned customers in both our “core” businesses and through expanded points of distribution and increased market share. Additionally, they are responsible for executing fundamentals of selling to include relationship development, identifying customer needs and white space opportunities, developing and delivering sales presentations, answering objections and closing the sale.
Deliver best in class, proactive execution on relevant, specialized tasks (ie. operations, sales, product development, etc.) to ensure flawless sales execution of the assigned account portfolio.
Manage and oversee internal processes from product presentation through shipment, including replenishment, AR, customer deductions, etc.
Provide Marketing, PD, and Sales organizations with customer feedback and competitive intel on a timely basis. Develop and maintain “subject matter expert” status on new and existing products, categories and competitive landscape.
Identify process breakdowns and spearhead solution development.
Collaborate with Business Information Manager to provide sales data in a professional presentation format. POS data, Sales s, Dashboards, Trackers, etc.
Develop and monitor performance indicators for the customer portfolio; identify and communicate key trends based on business analytics.
Create retail planograms and collaborate on other customer-specific POP and ISM materials.
Create presentations for retailer meetings.
Liaise with cross functional teams to deliver solutions to support sales strategies for new products, discontinuations, excess stock, brand assets etc.
Deliver appropriate, varied and customized level of contact and service to meet the dynamic needs of the account portfolio.
What You Need To Succeed
Undergraduate degree
5+ years’ experience in a sales and/or sales support function, preferably within the CPG industry
Good problem-solving capability is essential. Must be an analytical thinker, proactive and detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.
Self-starter who demonstrates an ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
Appropriate interpersonal skills and attitudes to promote and support productive working relationships.
Ability to travel – up to 20%
