Our Digital Think Tank team is looking for a Research & Policy Analyst to join them! Are you looking for a new challenge? This role will join a team that takes a holistic view of the digital economy, including examining human well-being via social, community, and environmental impacts. The role produces mixed-methods research on topics including labour market trends, transformative technologies, investment and trade, and sustainability. Do you have experience with statistical analysis and/or econometric modelling? Are you familiar with quantitative and qualitative research methods? Are you naturally curious, and keen to understand how technology impacts economic resilience, employment, competition, and more? If so, this role may be for you!
What will you be doing?
Collecting, cleaning, and analysing primary and secondary data; working with unstructured and messy data, and merged datasets.
Conducting descriptive and inferential statistical analysis, and developing data visualizations.
Analysing quantitative and qualitative data to identify core themes, extract and articulate key trends, and summarize findings.
Helping to build, run, and consistently improve micro and macroeconomic models; testing hypotheses and variables; running regressions.
Authoring reports, briefs, whitepapers, blogs, and other written material.
Developing and analysing surveys and other quantitative primary research materials.
Conducting key informant interviews and literature reviews, and supporting focus groups, roundtables, advisory committees, workshops, and events.
Assisting with stakeholder engagement activities, including conducting outreach for key informant interviews, engaging stakeholders in surveys, developing advisory committees and taskforces, and facilitating group discussions like roundtables, public consultations, events, and webinars.
Assisting in the development of relationships relevant to the Digital Think Tank and ICTC’s goals, values, and mandate.
Assisting with writing proposals and concept papers, as needed.
Using project management software and collaboration software to effectively organize, balance, and plan responsibilities and manage activities.
Representing the Digital Think Tank and ICTC at various events and conferences, in a speaking capacity where possible.
Do you have the following knowledge and experience?
2+ years of experience working in a research, policy analysis, economics, or a related position.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field: e.g., Economics, Statistics, Data Analysis, Political Science, Public Administration/Policy, Business, etc. (Master’s degree is an asset).
Strong knowledge of statistical analysis. Knowledge/proficiency with econometric modeling and forecasting is an asset.
Strong knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies and practices.
Experience conducting major and complex studies; using results to make recommendations that inform decision-making.
Experience writing and communicating complex subject matter to non-technical audiences.
Digital literacy, including proficiency with O365, and online collaboration tools.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to professionally engage stakeholders, and explain research findings clearly and succinctly.
Proficiency with statistical analysis tools like R, STATA, SPSS, EViews, etc.

Exceptional time and project management skills, with the ability to work on numerous projects efficiently and effectively.
Exceptional teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team across the country.
Experience working with digital survey tools like Lime Survey or SurveyMonkey.
Proficiency with Wrike or other project management tools.
Experience with Tableau, Datawrapper, PowerBI or other visualization tool is an asset.
French proficiency is an asset.
