About the role:

The Finance Officer will provide support to the Financial Controller with routine daily, weekly, and monthly tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

Regular Tasks

• Bank reconciliations
• Accounts receivable functions including tenant receipting
• Accounts payable functions including processing invoices / purchase orders and preparing weekly payment batches in both the banking and accounting platforms
• Filing of creditor invoices
• Arrears reporting and management
• Lease maintenance
• Preparation of monthly lease charges for the whole portfolio and distribution of charges to Brisbane tenants
• Processing of general ledger journals
• Review Superannuation payments
• Preparation of capital expenditure reports for Property Function

Annual Tasks

• Assist with the annual budget process
• Assist with the annual outgoings audit
• Prepare letters for updated annual outgoings and cleaning charges
• Archiving as required
• Assist with the information required for the annual tax review

Additional Tasks

• Understanding and preparation of weekly cash flow reporting
• Assistance with and understanding of BAS reporting
• Provide cover for payroll processing
• Preparation of prepayments and accruals and reconciliation of general ledger accounts
• Analysis of any financial information where required
• Assist the Property Management team with specific property related financial queries
• Provide business support to the Management team
• Any ad hoc tasks as required by the CEO, COO and FC

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Experience as a Finance Officer/Assistant Accountant, ideally within a property organisation
• Well-developed skills and knowledge of Microsoft office suite, in particular; Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Understanding of property-based accounting software
• Sound interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work in a close team environment
• Well organised, efficient, proactive with a high level of attention to detail
